Overview
Sam studies multiwavelength observations of supernovae with Dr. Anna Ho. His research focuses on modeling radio synchrotron emission to probe the interaction between supernova ejecta and the circumstellar medium (CSM) in the vicinity of supernovae. This work provides context to the mass-loss histories of massive stars and their interactions with their companion stars. At the University of Toronto, he worked with Prof. Maria Drout and Dr. James Leung to build simulations of supernovae. He used these simulations to find the ejecta and CSM properties of a peculiar supernova, aiming to explain why it shows several re-brightening episodes.
